The opening to the public of its historical archive and of the original studio of Franco Albini, full of unique, unpublished or serial design pieces, which are flanked by vintage drawings and photos, interviews and 3D reproductions to get to know the creative process live and the rigorous method of this great master, one of the most representative figures of Italian and international design and architecture, intends to spread the knowledge of the work of the great Milanese master.
The initiative aims to tell the work of the Milanese architect through the immersion of the public in the place where he worked the last years of his career: the habits, the anecdotes, the development of a recognizable method in the design object as well as in great architectural works.
A journey through numerous pieces of Design to shed light on the articulated and complex figure of this great architect.

Milanese metro – the greatest work of social design

In the study that sees the genesis of the Milanese Metro, with project tables, images and prototypes on site, we will make an excursus on the subways in the world to get to the Milanese Metro Lines 1 and 2 and understand the particularities that have made the School: construction techniques, solutions graphics, use of innovative materials. Free visits to the Albini studio

The opening to the public of the historic studio, still active today as Studio Albini Associati and headquarters of the Franco Albini Foundation, allows you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere and works of the famous rationalist architect and to appreciate some unique pieces, some original prototypes and furnishings. now in production. Captions in Italian and English help the visitor to manage the visit in his own time and manner, in total freedom.

Franco Albini Foundation opens the doors of its headquarters, a place of innovation and the cradle of architecture and design, also to elementary and middle school children with an innovative project that will bring the little ones closer to the world of Design. The Cicognino coffee table becomes a character that guides children on a journey to discover the world of Franco Albini and the ideas at the origin of his works.
